After some good restaurant tips, we decided to go to Angkor Borei, the Cambodian restaurant the
bigjohnsf suggested. But when looking on Yelp, it showed a 4+ Yelp-star rated Mexican restaurant across the street called Pastores. We changed our mind, since Steve was in the mood for non-Taqueria Mexican.
I'm glad I read the reviews. From the outside, we were really hesitant to go inside. We did go in to find some of the owner's family at the counter. We were the only real customers.
Steve got chicken enchilladas with green sauce. The green sauce was way to spicy for him. He should have gotten the mole sauce. But I got some grilled chicken & onions dish. Fantastic. Everything was very fresh. Prices were great. Service was friendly. The Mexican TV was loud, but the place (and bathroom) was very clean.
It was a bit of a walk to 3435 Cesar Chavez, but we preferred to walk tonight instead of catching one of the many busses. Oh, and to grab some ice cream.
