Dropping like flies
Aug. 1st, 2006 06:54 pmYesterday was the busiest schedule at work: 67 patients in the morning and 86 in the afternoon. Luckily, there were a LOT of no shows. Kristin & Katia both called in sick.
This morning, when I got into work a bit before 8am, it was obvious that Angela, who starts at 7:30am, was not there. I quickly did all the prep that she normally does. My boss came in around 8:30am and checked her messages. Angela called in sick. Kristin called in sick. Katia called in and quit. Katia has been on the job for less than two weeks. Apparently she got a different, higher paying job. So, today for medical assistants it was Elvira & I. Elvira started less than a week ago. Luckily, she's a hard worker.
In addition to my co-workers being out, three resident doctors called in (sick?). It was interesting & good to see three attending doctors pitch in to help inbetween other duties. It made for a pretty hectic day.
