I have a treadmill stress test today at the hospital. I hope it's multiple choice.

I went to my temp job yesterday for a few hours. Then I went to catch the #43 bus to Irving & 9th Ave for my job interview. I had checked the bus schedules the day before. One bus would get me there 20 minutes early. The second would get me there right on time. I was stuck outside in the rain. The first bus never showed. The second bus was a bit late. I got to my 1pm interview about a minute or two late. Luckily, the manager wasn't available for a few more minutes. For those paying attention, this was a followup interview at Starbucks. It seemed to go fine.

We went to La Mediterranee for dinner last night. I'm determined that Steve should learn how to make their Chicken Cilicia.

I started my second week of Wellbutrin on Sunday, upping the dose from half power to full power. I didn't seem to have any odd side effects last week. Things seemed in check. Last night the same old unemployed self-esteem issues brought me near tears. I realized that if anything ever happened to Steve, I'd soon be homeless. I'm hoping it was just the second week of Wellbutrin kicking in. The first couple of weeks are supposed to be the unstable ones. But I'd still be homeless.

iPod woes

My iPod started acting up last week. I'm afraid I may have to send it to military school.

The iPod has been locking up in the middle of a song. This happens both while I'm in motion or if the iPod is sitting on a table. Resetting it seems to work, but doing that half a dozen times in a short period of time doesn't make for a good listening experience. Yesterday, it started skipping, like a record player. The rules are that only I am allowed to skip, and only if it's a really peppy song.

This is my third iPod. They've all crapped out on me. I use it a lot, but I don't bang it around or anything. I'm wondering if body chemistry causes the problem. My mother and sisters couldn't wear watches. The watches would soon stop working. Maybe it's the same with the iPod? I haven't used a protective case for it. Perhaps that would help.

I have a Jesus Genius Bar appointment this afternoon.

My treadmill test seemed to go okay this morning.

Technician: I may have to shave you. Is that okay?
Me: No.
Me: But do what you have to do.

No shaving was involved. The sticky things stuck just fine. A little too well. They hurt when yanked off.

We went to Macy's for lunch at the sushi bar. We looked at cookies afterward at Tom's cookies, but didn't buy any. We did run into bid-dicked Ross there. Woof.

We went to the Apple Store, where I explained my iPod woes to the resident genius. He seemed puzzled. First he told me that he was going to just restore it. I should go home, and if it gives me problems to come back in. He notated that he did the restore so that they wouldn't think I'm making things up. I said okay. Didn't sound right, but worth a shot. He took the iPod to the backroom. He returned and had changed his mind. He decided to just give me a new iPod. I'm not sure what changed his mind. Anyhow, now I have iPod #4. (I only purchased one. They gave me the three other ones as replacements.) It is currently busy, having downloaded 481 of 4066 songs so far.

I told Steve to go wait in the comfortable seats in the training area. I went to grab him after I got my new iPod, but he was engrossed in a Photoshop Elements demo. I sat with him for about 20 minutes. I learned a thing or two.
