And he's off

The Supershuttle just came and picked up double_ohsteven. He's off to Florida for a week to visit his friend, Ann. American called him a few minutes ago. His 10:28am flight is delayed 2 hours, so he'll miss his connection in DFW unless he's able to get on the 9:48am flight. He should be able to make the earlier flight. If not, maybe I'll see him back here later this morning.

I've got no real plans while he's away. A couple job interviews. Job searching. Some square dancing. That just means I'm up for doing something spontaneous, right? Belly button lint, watch out!

No phone????

This morning I got a call from john_nyc. I heard him say his name, then my phone had a bunch of static. I had to hang up. I get home now, and there's no dial tone. The phone display reads "NO LINE." I have no cell phone. Steve is gone for a week with his. Crap.

Today's interview

There is a new director in charge of the career placement center at my school. Today a group of 9 candidates met with her to discuss tomorrow's interview for the laser prostate jobs. She has very high energy. It sounds like she'll make some good changes to the career placement group. The director paged through our resumes, and she found that my job placement person had put her own resume in the stack. Ha! "There will be a discussion," the director muttered.

NONE of the other candidates have been out to other job interviews. I heard one girl say that she was just too lazy to look for work. I'm glad these people are my "competition."

I'm feeling pretty good about tomorrow's interview. The new director made the job sound really good. The guy is going to come in and demo some equipment. That sounds pretty kewl. Sounds like he has multiple openings. And job positions.
