Sutro Heights Park
Nov. 5th, 2005 03:49 pmWe lunched with Witten today. He drove us in his convertible Mustang over by the ocean to Seal Rock Inn Restaurant, just up the hill from Cliff House. Lunch was fine (fish & chips, scallops & chips), then we crossed the street to walk through Sutro Heights Park.
This was my first time to Sutro Heights Park. You know that wall of rock across from Cliff House? The park sits atop that wall. Mayor Sutro had his mansion there in the 1800's. It was demolished in 1939, and the land has become a park. It has great views of the ocean and the beach. There were lots of surfers out today, and we watched them for awhile from our vantage point high above it all.
David then drove us to Safeway in the Swish Alps to pick up some groceries. He knows what it's like to not have a car. Awful sweet of him!
Tonight's the FCD Bill Eyler dance.
double_ohsteven is thinking of going with me, not to dance, but to mingle. Guess we'll see if he gets in a good nap first!
