Mambo Kings

My pal john_nyc is a production assistant for Mambo Kings and scored us tickets for the "World Premiere" opening of Mambo Kings last night at the Golden Gate Theatre. We had great seats in the orchestra. Thanks, John!

During intermission, John pointed out a trio of fellows chatting nearby. They were the original author, the director, and the producer. Cool.

Mad at Gas Cars

We joined the bears for dinner at Chevy's tonight before the movie. redbeardedblond's Fajita Nachos looked yummy. I always have a hard time trying to figure out what to have there. Next time'll be those fajita nachos for sure. My Napa Quesadillas were not great, but at least the portion was not too big. Most of their plates are so incredibly huge!

The movie tonight Madagascar. Most of the theater was empty when we showed up, so it was fun to have all the bears sitting in near proximity. Close enough to point at rampagebear during cookie references. The movie seemed silly for some, but I enjoyed myself and giggled more than usual. Lots of pop references. The Twilight Zone "cookbook" reference and the "American Beauty" steaks, et al, were just fun.

The trailer for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was interesting, but Johnny Depp's Wonka seemed a bit too Michael-Jackson-creepy for me.
