Always something exciting at Starbears
Apr. 2nd, 2005 02:15 pmYesterday, we passed crazy Dave asleep on the sidewalk near Starbears. Soon afterwards, a paramedics truck (I didn't see if it was Chris) stopped and woke him up. Apparently on the wrong side of the bed. He traipsed in front of Starbears in a foul mood. Some other semi-crazy guy picked a fight with him and drug him into Fluxx, the gallery next to Starbears. Crazy Dave seemed to start getting violent, and Annie from Starbears called the cops.
Meanwhile, the semi-crazy guy had strode up the street and took crazy Dave's bag, which was still where he'd been napping. Crazy Dave gives chase and they go up Castro Street. The police show up and apparently take care of things.
Today we were there, and a couple hundred people from ReclaimSF.org go marching past. One little postcard-sized sign mentions something about Muni Fare Hikes; otherwise, there was no telling what they were protesting. If you're gonna bother marching the streets, you'd think you'd want to convey your message a bit better.
I think it would be a good idea to get a webcam installed upstairs at AutoErotica pointed directly to the front of Starbears...
