We got home last night from Phoenix. I'll blog more about the trip later. We had a really nice time.

I checked my email last night. 506 new emails. I think 503 of those were SPAM. It took me awhile, but I got through those. Delete, delete, delete. I also see that there are 200 journal entries for me to read. Forgive me if it takes awhile for me to catch up.

In addition to the 506 emails at home, there were several work emails. One was from my boss asking me to give a presentation to my co-workers at our bi-weekly staff meeting on July 14th. The presentation is on how to do one of my ongoing tasks. Preparing the presentation is no problem. I like that stuff. However, I woke up at 5am this morning and realized that the timing of this presentation is no coincidence. They told me that funding for the department is being cut probably in mid-July, and one person will be cut from the staff. They couldn't say whether it would be a lay off situation or moving to another group. Given that the company is in "layoff mode," I'm guessing they'll get rid of me then. I see. I'll prepare a presentation as requested, but I think 7/14 would be an "unfortunate" day for me to be sick. Let 'em figure it out on their own. Yeah, thanks for asking me to do the presentation.

I did have a nice message when I got home from Phoenix: a voicemail stating that tick, tick... BOOM! was in stock. I went to the Music Centre of SF to pick it up during lunch today. I haven't listened to the CD in a long time. Some of the songs don't ring a bell. I'll have to dig out the CD again. When I was listening to it every day for awhile, I kept hoping the piano music would come out. Hopefully it'll be a bit more playable than the Rent score. Can't wait to get home to find out!

Last year's HTQ contest was okay. I'm not fond of drag shows, but last year's was done well.

This year is a different story. Well, it did have an interesting pussy song as a highlight. The only other highlight was seeing Michael Garcia and [livejournal.com profile] excessor wearing skin-exposing fur to help out the OLD queen. (They surely built up some good karma for helping that one.) Oh, and my pal Chip was fabulous on the keyboard, and he dressed skimpily. Always a good combination. I was mildly entertained, but I don't think I'll be going to another one of these things for awhile. Freaks and control freaks are a bad combo.
