Monday morning - a meeting: uh oh

Having napped on Sunday evening, I slept fitfully. Chip ate some Red Vines in the car yesterday. I had a dream about going off Atkins to eat licorice. Odd.

I got up around 5:30am and shaved/showered. I read my email and tried to catch up reading my friends' LJ posts. There were over 60 posts since Friday. Some I just skipped over or read, but skipped reading the posted comments. I'll need to figure out how to group friends so I'm not bombarded with so many posts. Some I'd like to read every day. Others just when I'm totally bored.

I made coffee and read the newspaper. Steve got up at 7:30, and I got him some coffee then left for work. I rode the Muni with Michael Levy until he got off at Van Ness. Can't get away from square dancing it seems. Odd to see him clothed, though. ;-) He looks good naked. Lots of Muni "holds" this morning. I wasn't in any rush. At Starbucks, they gave me an envelope marked "thank you" and told me "thanks for being an every day customer." Got to work and found that it was a sheet of magnetic words and coffee images. Also a coupon for a free tall coffee. Nice.

My boss scheduled a meeting for our group with Gizelle for 2pm today. No meeting topic was listed. This is about the time they said they'd let groups know which ones will be targeted for Offshore. Guess I'll have more info this afternoon. Stay tuned...

Postcards From The Edge

I believe that Godfather (manger dom?) Jeff has sent me one of his infamous postcards. Yes?

The postcard was from Southern Decadence from "Randy." He mentioned Kevin. Since I'm not recalling a "Randy & Kevin," I'm guessing the Godfather is getting these names from the actors on the 70's tv show "Emergency." When I was little, that was one of my favorite shows!

The postcard comments were indeed steamy.

Webmail at work

Yes, webmail is still blocked at work. But I did discover that by adding my Yahoo email account to Yodlee, I can at least see the sender/subject lines for up to 10 of the newest unread messages. I can't access the messages, but at least I can see this bit.

Weigh In

It's Monday, so time to weigh in. Scales fluctuate today. Somewhere between 211 from last week and 209 from the week before.

2pm meeting - My work IS being offshored

Yep. My group was targeted to be offshored to India. There are 7 of us in the group. They'll keep 4-5 of the group in some capacity, and 2-3 will be tranferred to the "Talent Pool" to try to find placement elsewhere in the company. Based on earlier conversations with my boss, I'm pretty sure I'll be one of those displaced. Won't happen until February, but I get to find out in October. When God closes one door, it usually hits me on the ass.
