On Wednesday for lunch, I met up with John from Bearlunch. Sexy guy. I really enjoyed talking with the man. We have some things in common, including an appendicitis each last year. Mine was June 2nd. His was June 4th. Both were located in the back rather than front. I thought I was the only freak. ;-) We plan to meet for lunch again maybe next week. It's great when guys get even cuter when you have good conversation.
Got back to ( work )
After my afternoon meeting, I put on my vacation voicemail and my out-of-the office email response. Woohoo! Even short vacations are welcomed.
I got home and did some laundry and packed. It didn't take that long to pack. My new suitcase holds a lot. I've packed way more t-shirts than I need, but with all that dancing, I need to change shirts several times a day. And you never what t-shirt slogan will be appropriate. Or inappropriate. Oops, just remembered that I didn't pack my velcro letters for those blank shirts. Gotta find them this morning!
We went to Cala and picked up a couple chickens for dinner. I'll have leftovers for breakfast. With convention, I'm not going to have a good selection of food. (Nothing near the hotel.) I'll head to Cala this morning and pick up some canned kippers and sardines, etc. Those are Atkins-friendly and travel well.
After dinner, Steve divided up our bills. He has a good system. Every time that we go out to dinner, go grocery shopping, pay utilities, etc., whoever pays puts their initials on the receipt and puts it in a drawer. At the end of the month, we just split the difference. Living in Kansas City with Roy, the cost of living was so cheap that money never seemed to be an issue and we just took turns paying for stuff. Neither of us were ever like "you owe me for this." With Junior, it was a given that I'd pay for everything. (With Neal, we were both poor at the time. I had to budget for the number of drinks I'd have at the bar.) Steve's system is something Judge Judy would be proud of.
We played some Scrabble then watched some TV. I headed to bed early. I slept fitfully. Not sure why. Woke up to find it very chilly. I even turned on the heat for a bit. Take that, you overly heated summer people! Now I'm gonna hop in the hot tub for a bit and finish getting ready for the trip. Super Shuttle arrives at 1pm. I don't return until Monday afternoon, so no blog entries for me until after that.
