Aerial Bacon
Jun. 20th, 2003 08:54 amAfter work yesterday I took a short nap. Steve came up and he napped, too. He made himself a tuna melt for dinner, and I made a big tuna salad for myself.
At 7pm we drove down and parked near the Lone Star. Then we walked to the New Conservatory Theatre. We got there around 7:25pm. I immediately saw Robert from church with tickets in his hands, so I was able to find out from him who to pay for our tickets. Dave & Richard showed up shortly thereafter. Glad they accepted my invite. They also invited another couple, Eric & Greg. Aha. Eric is that boy's name. I always say hello, but forget his name. Richard & Dave had hung back to way for E & G, so Steve and I went in. Steve was heavily cruised by someone. I could see out of the corner of my eye. I caught one glimpse and realized that it was Bob, one of Dennis' friends. I pretended not to see him since Steve was cruising back. I waited to get to our seats, then saw Bob in other seats and I waved. Dave seemed pleasantly surprised that we save 4 seats for them.
The show was "When Pigs Fly." Yep, same show that we missed a few weeks ago when I had forgot that I'd purchased tickets. At the $20 group rate, it was a better way to catch the show instead of paying full price a second time. The show was good. Much like New York, although the costumes were slightly less fabulous. I was pleased to see that they had updated the three torch songs. One of the torch songs was for Dick Cheney. One line went, "I'd like to come to your undisclosed location and do to you what you've done to the nation." Everyone seemed to enjoy the show. It was a very full house.
Afterwards Steve and I walked back to the Lone Star. We ran into Mike Ward. A theatre evening, indeed. Mike regaled us with his encounter with George Furth. A simple hello turned into an invite over to his place and possible leads for upcoming shows. Good for Mike. Very interesting set of circumstances.
We left around 11pm. Got home and took out the trash. I fell asleep, only waking up once during the night. Made a couple turkey sausages and an omelet. Hard to believe this diet allows you to eat so much. I've been able to stay off caffeine for nearly two weeks now. I don't feel "healthier" for having given up caffeine. I'll probably start back up on caffeine next week. I'll skip the non-fat lattes, though. Maybe one or two cups of coffee a day, and some diet colas. That way I can start drinking rum & diet cokes. Having no alcohol for a couple weeks hasn't been a problem, but it sure makes it less fun at the bar.
I just need to keep up on the diet through next week so I can wear my leather vest with no shirt for Gay Pride, then stay on the diet for another week after for the square dance convention. Hopefully I'll be able to maintain the diet after that as well.
