Weekend

Not a particularly busy weekend. We stayed in Friday night. Played Scrabble, Fluxx, and Quiddler.

We took a stroll to the Castro on Saturday around noon. Went to Starbucks. Spoke with Glover for a bit. Sometimes he just cracks me up.

Steve went to some Eckankar writing workshop, so I stayed home and cleaned house. I even finally mopped the bathroom and the kitchen floors. They sorely needed it.

We left around 7pm for the Foggy City dance. Stopped at Cala and picked up a couple packages of cookies. Got to the dance and saw that most everyone brought the same or similar Cala treats, LOL. Big imagination there. Someone brought cheese cubes, so that was something on Atkins I could eat.

Not many people went to the dance. It was mostly 2-3 squares. Only a couple from ECR showed up. Darryl was the only one from my Western Star Mainstream class to show up. It was supposed to be a Mainstream/Plus Dance with an Advanced tip. It turned out to be mostly Plus & Advanced with a C1 tip. Fine by me! I think Darryl was the only Mainstream-only person there, and he ended up leaving early. My new sneakers had too much traction on that floor. I could barely twirl. I need a comfortable shoe that looks fine with shorts that has a smooth sole for twirling. Lots of shoes available if I wear jeans, but I'd much rather dance in shorts.

On Sunday Steve went to an Eckankar service in SF so he could read some of his poetry. I went to church here and sat next to Junior. (Ok, I left an empty seat between us.) Kent Bricknell preached about the Crucifixion. I'm really looking forward to hearing Penny preach again! One phrase Kent said that I liked was "Those with a lack of moral imagination." I asked Junior if he wanted to come over to the cookout. He had some shopping to do, but said he'd come afterwards.

After church, Michael went to Cala with me and helped me carry groceries back to my place. David and Tom showed up a bit after 1pm. Steve showed up about 1:30pm and got the grill going. David made salad, cauliflower, and baked potatoes for those not on Atkins. Ok, everyone else but me. ;-) Junior showed up around 2pm just as they were putting steaks on the grill. He had met up with friends in the Castro and already ate. Whatever. Steve grilled the steaks. Food was good. Dennis and Tom joined me after dinner for some songs. We broke out the Fluxx, but it wasn't a Fluxx crowd. Junior's most recent webpage update mentioned that he enjoyed playing cards monthly with his buddies, so I figured he'd like it. No. Too complicated for that man. Folks left around 4:30pm. We were gonna head to the Lone Star, but Steve was too tired. I let him nap for 45 minutes. He was still tired after that, so I let him sleep some more on the couch. I watched some TV and napped in the bed. Steve woke me up later, and I cooked hamburgers for dinner. We watched some TV, then Steve headed down to San Carlos. He had some trash to put out last night and needed to water some plants.

I got up early this morning and got ready for work. Nice sunny day. On my way to cross 18th at Storrie, the #33 bus came by, so I took that to 18th & Castro. Waiting to cross Castro to walk up to Muni, I saw [livejournal.com profile] drewbearsf on his new beamer. Nice bike.

Got into work and saw that the work request I submitted on Thursday for remote access has still not been approved by my boss. I had even emailed her on Thursday mentioning that her boss said to approve it. She acknowledged my email, but didn't bother to approve it. Bitch. I emailed to remind her this morning and cc'd her boss. This is typical for her, and I'm delighted to point this out to her boss. Three woman were doing crack in the elevator this morning. Another woman gave birth in the men's room this morning. All lies.
