Atkins day 2 - the pain!

I got through work and the afternoon ok. I ate some hamburger and some tuna at lunch. The tuna would not leave my breath. Ick. Not having caffeine all day, I was drowsy. I rested after work until square dancing.

Walked into square dancing and had my nostrils assaulted by John's cologne. Bastard. The room was hot, and the outside door locked up. The cologne and not having caffeine gave me a bad headache. Fen did the calling. It wasn't a fun evening. The headache worsened.

I got home and called Steve and chatted for a bit. Apparently one of his neighbors also has commented about his realtor not doing a good job. Hopefully a chat with her will help.

I hadn't eaten for several hours, but I wasn't hungry. I just went to bed and watched some TV. My headache was bad. I also woke up during the night with very painful heartburn. Not sure what caused that. I know the headache is from caffeine withdrawals. I had similar ones when I joined the Army and couldn't have caffeine for the first couple of weeks. Between the coffee and the diet cola and the birthday chocolate, I've been having even more caffeine than usual. I woke up this morning, and the heartburn was gone. The headache continues to get worse. I almost called in sick today, but thought getting out would help. It hasn't.

The first 2 days of Atkins are supposed to be the worst. In addition to lack of caffeine, I'm probably have sugar withdrawals. After a couple days, your body adjusts, according to the book. At least I can tell that my body chemistry is reacting.

This morning I found out that the smoke detector works in our kitchen. I forgot to turn on the exhaust fan. Cooking my omelette caused excess of smoke, and the alarm went off. That didn't help my headache, LOL. I fanned the feather duster by the alarm, and the alarm shut off. I opened the window and turned on the exhaust fan. Um, just testing...
