Roommate connection?
Jun. 7th, 2003 08:10 amHad lunch with David Witten yesterday. We walked up to Old Navy so he could get some new t-shirts for the gym. It's nice having him work nearby again. He sees
I saw Mark W. on Muni on the way home. He verified that Constance had moved out and that he'll need another roommate at some point. I remembered that an email acquaintance was moving to SF soon. Mark said I could give the guy Mark's contact info.
Got home "late" from work yesterday. Steve wasn't home. I went downstairs to find my neighbor emerging from my downstairs area. She has storage down there, but is supposed to let us know before she goes in. Since they've just moved in and are in the process of unpacking, etc., it's no big deal to me. I can understand. I'll need to get a deadbolt for while I'm working down here, though. If it continues very long, I'll mention something. Again, no big deal for now. She was hiding a birthday present for Rob. He's 27 today. Christ. Such a youth. Anne's 26. We'll have to go down today and get a birthday card for Rob.
I called Steve at his house. He was busy there and would be up around 6pm. I signed on and did some more work. Got news in the afternoon that work is ditching our VPN and going with some new technology that let's us access a Virtual Office over the web. Still need a SecurID card, but you can access it through a web browser via any internet connection. Cool. I was able to access email and the intranet, but didn't have access to the mainframe. I contacted the guy in charge, and he told me how to fill out the ticket to get that access. Cool. I'll be able to share that knowledge with my co-workers on Monday.
Steve arrived and we unloaded his car. He had brought up his Weber grill. Woohoo! Looking forward to a cookout soon. Maybe a small one with David and Rhoda on Sunday. Steve was tired. So was I. Instead of going out to dinner, we just ate some frozen dinners here. Saved time and money. Watched some TV. Steve tried to nap, but the neighbors had company and he said it was too noisy. I napped for awhile. He got me up at 10pm to go out. I was too tired. We played a game of Quiddler, then I went back to bed. Steve joined me soon after.
Getting enough sleep, Steve awoke at 6am today. He got part of me to wake up, too.
I emailed Mike, the guy who was moving to SF. Turns out that he's moving here in just a few days! He'll be staying at some SRO for a bit until he finds a roommate situation. I gave him Mark's info. It would be great if a roommate situation worked out for them. Of course, who knows if that would work. At least I was able to give them a lead. I'm looking forward to Mike moving here. He is SO excited. Much like me when I first moved here. Heck, I'm STILL excited to live here. Hope we become friends. He's cute and single, fellas. Keep your olfactory senses open for that new meat smell...
