Moved to #84 Caselli AND to LiveJournal
May. 1st, 2003 09:31 amOk, I've succumbed. It has nothing to do with sucking or cumming. This time, anyhow. I've decided to make the switch to Live Journal. When I originally started blogging, I had noted lots of downtime with LJ, so opted to avoid it. Plus, I like to be different.
Got back home around 7am yesterday. Made coffee for Steve, then started moving stuff. I was unloading my 2nd carload at #84, when I saw that the Jack Trux movers had arrived at 250 Douglass a few minutes before 8:30am. They were scheduled to be there sometime between 8:30-10am. It's great when they show up at the beginning of the time window!
From the time they arrived to the time they finished, it took just one hour. Woohoo! I had made it very easy for them by having things boxed and ready. Glad to have that done! I still had some stuff in the apartment that I wanted to move myself (PC, etc.) so I worked on getting that stuff moved. Around noon, I went to the grocery store and got stuff to make hamburgers for lunch. After lunch, I went to the Castro for some last cleaning supplies and worked on the old apartment for awhile. I came back to #84 at 4pm to wait for the cable guy. (His window was 4-6pm.) We had been waiting all day for the phone company, but they never showed. It turns out that Steve had the first 3 digits of the phone number wrong. Grrrrrr. Apparently they had already turned on the phone. The cable guy arrived around 4:45pm. He went to work and was busy for about 45 minutes. He got the cable set up fine in 3 spots on our main floor, plus in the room downstairs. However, he wasn't going to install the internet broadband connection. I was pissed. Apparently they had dispatched him as "cable TV only." I made him stay there while I contacted Comcast and straightened things out. Their dispatcher had screwed up the order. They'll be sending another installer out next Wednesday. GRRRRRRRR. We'll get a free month of internet service due to their screwup. I loathe bad service.
At 6pm I headed back to 250 Douglass to finish cleaning. By 7pm, I had it all done except for mopping. Then Jeff shows up with 5 potential tenants to show the place. At least it looked decent. I just gave Jeff the keys and took my stuff, leaving the place unmopped. Jeff said that he didn't need me to do anything else, so I'm officially moved. Yeehaw!
I got HOME to #84 and took a well-deserved shower. Then we went to China Court for dinner. We got home at 9pm, just in time to watch West Wing. Then we watched South Park. At 10:30pm, I was too exhausted to pack for my Palm Springs trip. We just went to bed.
I got up at 5am and started packing. It was hard trying to locate items to take since most of my stuff has yet to be unpacked. I managed to get that done. I made coffee for Steve and we finished a game of Scrabble that we had started while waiting for the cable guy. I showered, took out the trash (egads, a chore I haven't done in a few years!), then came in to work. I've got to make today be very productive. Especially since I'm "not feeling well" and just may have to take off on Friday.
FYI - Due to my trip to Palm Springs for the naked square dancing "Peel-Off" event, I probably won't be making updates until Monday.
