Hold that seat
Jan. 20th, 2004 09:13 amOur new Mayor Newsom has been making some interesting appointments. So far, they seem pretty decent.
Today's paper had an article about him appointing Michela Alioto-Pier to be his replacement on the Board of Supervisors. Michela was paralyzed from the waist down in a ski accident as a teenager, is thought to be the first member of the Board of Supervisors to use a wheelchair. Fine. However, the newspaper article said she "was chosen in part because Newsom believes she can hold onto the seat in the November election."
Nothing like wheelchair jokes to spice up the morning.
Timmy!
