Oh, the crosses I bear

School was pretty dull today. I didn't take enough reading materials to do while waiting for the rest of the class to solve equations.

Some woman stopped into the class to have us do an evaluation for our instructor. Bizarre. She got really pissy when LOTS of people turned in the paper without using "crosses." (She meant X's. I almost told her that I was offended by her religious push.) She hadn't fully explained how she wanted the paper marked. (I'm at an advantage in the class in that I'm literate. I was able to read the directions.) After her fifth pissy outburst that someone had used checkmarks instead of "crosses," I said, "Are you just not that bright to figure out what they meant?" B.

Sunny Saturday

Steve and I went to Cafe Mistake for lunch. The service is much improved since I went there when it first opened a couple months ago. They were even busing tables. I had a grilled chicken breast sandwich. I also ordered a $2 cup of split pea soup. I don't usually care for split pea soup, but I heard theirs was good. It was. The sandwich was good, too. The food was a little slow coming (Steve ordered something well-described as "slow-cooked"), but I'd definitely go back.

We went to Starbears for a bit, then we caught the #33 bus to recently-opened Duc Loi Grocery on Mission Street. They had brisket, which I haven't seen at Delano's or Safeway. I haven't made slow-cooked bbq brisket in years. (And not, corned-beef brisket, Ms. [livejournal.com profile] cjsmith!) That'll be Monday's dinner.

Tonight, Steve made potato leek soup and scallops with lobster ravioli. Yum! It probably explains my shapely figure better than thisiswhyyourefat.com.

Daylight Savings Time

I thought I might experience a bit of schaudenfreude at school tomorrow because of D.S.T., but I forgot that my classmates' cell phones will probably remind them. Damn.
